What is SkinVive?
SkinVive by Juvederm (Allergan) is the first and only hyaluronic acid (HA) injectable that hydrates the skin by absorbing 1000 times it’s weight in water. HA is a naturally occurring in the body. SkinVive is not a filler but rather a skin hydration booster, acting like a sponge under the skin holding water and creating soft, smooth, glowing skin. Microdroplets of SkinVive are injected superficially just under the skin with a tiny needle.The novel treatment aims at improving skin smoothness, glow, and hydration of the face from inside out.
What are the benefits of SkinVive?

What does SkinVive treatment involve?
Pre-treatment photos are taken, the skin is washed with an anti-bacterial cleanser, and then a fast acting powerful topical anesthetic cream is applied to the cheeks and any other areas to be treated. After 15 minutes, the skin is cleansed again.The injection process takes Dr. Persky about 5 minutes per cheek. Dr. Persky then applies a skin nutrient mist spray and Alastin post injection serum to minimize bruising. Any tiny bumps from the micro-droplet injection are massaged out by Dr. Persky.
What should you expect after a SkinVive treatment and how long does it last?
There may be minimal redness and small injection site bruising which resolves within 2 to 3 days.There is no downtime.We recommend waiting 12 to 24 hours before applying makeup. Patients may resume normal activities the day following the treatment (other than not jacuzziing, steaming, or using a sauna for one week.). The results are often immediate, though most patients find it takes a few days to see and feel the results. By 3 to 4 weeks, patients rave about the glowing quality of their skin.SkinVive results last approximately 6 months.
What does SkinVive treatment feel like, is it painful?
Dr. Persky numbs the skin topically prior to SkinVive treatment. The smallest, thinnest cosmetic needle available is used to precisely inject micro-droplets of SkinVive. Patients describe it as feeling like Botox injections without the “sting.” Most patients don’t feel much during the procedure.

Is SkinVive safe, are there risks and complicatons?
SkinVive is among the safest and most efficient HA injectable in all skin types and age groups because micro-droplets are injected superficially. Minimal bruising is the most common side effect, but can be easily covered with concealer after 12 hours.
What areas may be treated with SkinVive?
SkinVive is FDA approved for hydration of the cheeks.However, the lips, neck, decollate, hands, and other dry areas of the body respond beautifully to SkinVive treatment as well.
Is SkinVive for Me?
SkinVive is for anyone who wishes to improve the appearance of their skin. All ages and all skin types can safely and effectively be given a natural beautiful youthful glow of hydrated soft skin. The only patients who should not have SkinVive treatment are those with a known allergic reaction to other hyaluronic acid products. Or those with an active skin infection or rash.
