Procedure
RADIESSE® is made up of calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres in an aqueous gel carrier, and this formula stimulates the body to produce its own collagen. The body metabolizes the CaHA microspheres, leaving behind the natural collagen to provide long-lasting volumizing results. BELOTERO BALANCE® is comprised of a thin hyaluronic acid (HA) formula that completely integrates into the tissues. It blends in with the natural structure of your skin while gently filling in deep wrinkles and adding definition around the mouth.
Dr. Persky will inject RADIESSE® and BELOTERO BALANCE® beneath the skin using a small, fine needle. RADIESSE® is FDA approved to mix with lidocaine (an anesthetic) to provide more comfort throughout the injection process. Typically, treatments can be completed in less than an hour and are performed in-office by Dr. Persky in Encino.
Recovery
For the first 24 hours after treatment, patients should avoid sun exposure, significant movement of the treatment area, touching the injection site, and applying makeup. Some patients may experience bruising, swelling, redness, pain, tenderness, and itching in or near the treatment area(s) for a short period of time. It may take 24 to 48 hours for the filler to settle completely. Side effects are typically mild and only last for a short time. The majority of patients can return to work and normal activities after their visit.
Results
Immediately following RADIESSE® or BELOTERO BALANCE® treatment, patients will notice a significant improvement in the appearance of their facial skin. They will see that their facial volume has been restored and that their skin is dramatically smoother, which provides a youthful and natural-looking appearance.
